NaPoWriMo Day 14

Today’s optional prompt at NaPoWriMo’s website was a parody of a famous poem. I’ve already parodied several, but no cheating allowed, so I did a new one. This is a super quick effort and unedited, with apologies of course to William Blake.

The Bully

Bully, Bully, not that bright

In the playground, starting fights.

Why don’t teachers ever see

Your fists of fearful symmetry?

In what distant corridor

Do you say ‘d’ya want some more?!’

With what gang dare you attack?

With what hands dare give a smack?

And that shoulder barge in art,

Broke my homework all apart!

Hearts with dread begin to beat,

When we hear your size 9 feet.

Ouch! A wedgie! You’re insane!

Why don’t you have any brain?

Who will save me from the grasp

Of the terror of the class?

Why won’t you just disappear?

Why d’you leave us all in tears?

Why the smile when hurting me?

You’re a psycho – that’s agreed.

Bully, Bully, not that bright

In the playground, starting fights.

Why don’t teachers ever see

Your fists of fearful symmetry?
